The Oregon Criminal Justice Commission, working with the
University of Oregon Institute on Violence and Destructive
Behavior (IVDB) and Measurematics, Inc., recently instituted
a process to collect, analyze, and report Oregon's Juvenile
Crime Prevention (JCP) Programs risk screen and interim review
data in "real-time." The web-based application reports output
and intermediate outcome information, such as changes in
risk and protective factors of participating youth, and program
performance.
IVBD Project Coordinator, Tom English, indicated
that ".for
the first time, stakeholders have program-related information
at their fingertips and at all times. Further, the Measurematics
application has provided the opportunity for our JCP programs
to incorporate evidence-based practices through knowledge
and standards embedded within it."
Sound program information
will assist program staff, local and state officials,
and other stakeholders decide optimum program and intervention
methods and guide future policy related to serving adjudicated
and at-risk youth in Oregon .
